Recently FHA made numerous revisions to all sections of the 4000.1 Single Family Housing Policy Handbook. The Origination Through Post Closing//Endorsement section of the handbook lists several changes that impact the Title II Forward Mortgage underwriting process. Some of those changes are:

• An expanded definition of an accessory unit;
• Change in when a Power of Attorney can be used for active duty military borrowers;
• Requirement to manually underwrite borrowers without Social Security Numbers, if in a category that makes them otherwise eligible for FHA financing and much more.
