SUMMARY:Legislative Lunch & Learn - A "Member's Only Event"
DESCRIPTION:RIMBA invites you to our Legislative Lunch & Learn webinar. \nGuest Speakers \nAlden Knowlton\, Associate Vice President of Political Affairs/Legislative and Political Affairs\, Mortgage Bankers Association \n James Hahn Esq.\, Partridge Snow & Hahn\, LLP\, RIMBA Legislative Committee Co-Chair \nTerri Martiesian and Lenette Forry-Menard\, Martiesian & Associates\, RIMBA’s lobbyists \n——————————————————————————————————————————— \n         While 2020 was a fairly quiet year in the RI General Assembly due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic\, 2021 has seen a return to a normal legislative agenda and then some. \n \n         There a number of proposed bills weaving their way through both houses that would have either a direct impact on the residential lending industry or on business owners in general. With a number of new representatives and senators in place\, both our Legislative Committee and our lobbyists have had to increase both their vigilance and their activity.\n \n         RIMBA feels that it is imperative that our members are made aware of some of the bills that are of primary concern especially if we need to have a Call to Action at a later date. We would like to go back to the good old days of our traditional Legislative Affairs and Networking Night usually held in late March/early April but out of an abundance of caution we are going virtual one more time.\n \n       We are pleaseed to welcome back Alden Knowlton\, Associate Vice President of Political Affairs/Legislative and Political Affairs\, from MBA.  She is a wealth of knowledge on all of the many\, many pieces of legislation being proposed both by the President and Congress as well as the latest news coming out of the alphabet soup of regulatory agencies that impact our industry.  It might be the best 15-20 minutes that you will invest this year just for that portion of the virtual meeting alone!\n \n         Please respond promptly to let us know that you plan to attend.
