SUMMARY:Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO LIVESTREAM TODAY’S MEETING AT 2:40 pm\nTo the Members of Rhode Island Mortgage Bankers Association\, Inc. (“RIMBA”): \nPlease take notice that\, at the direction of the RIMBA board of directors\, the Annual Meeting of RIMBA will take place on October 21\, 2020\, beginning at 2:45 p.m. at Alpine Country Club\, 251 Pippin Orchard Road\, Cranston\, RI 02921 for the purposes of electing directors\, ratifying the prior actions of the board of directors\, and such other business as may properly come before the meeting. \nWith social distancing rules in effect\, it is not possible for RIMBA to hold the traditional RIMBA annual meeting and dinner this year.  There is no facility that could safely accommodate those members and guests who attend.  The board hopes to return to that format next year.  However\, RIMBA needs to hold the formal part of the meeting so that the board of directors can be properly elected to carry out RIMBA’s business for the up-coming year.  Attendance is limited to 25 individuals and much of the meeting will take place outside. \nAccordingly\, the board is requesting that members participate in this year’s annual meeting by completing and returning the enclosed Proxy.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions\, in-person attendance at the annual meeting will be limited exclusively to members of the board of directors and one representative from each of RIMBA’s Annual Partners. \nMembers\,  please complete and sign the attached  Annual Meeting Proxy  and return it via PDF to Carolyn Dion at:   info@rimba.org

SUMMARY:Webinar on Uniform Closing Instructions
DESCRIPTION:In 2016\, a group of ALTA and MBA volunteers convened to discuss the fact that a major component of the residential mortgage loan “Closing Package” had been resistant to standardization: the Closing Instructions. While many attempts have been made\, all have failed until now. For the past four years these volunteers have worked in a MISMO framework to create a different type of document that will work for all lenders and settlement agents. The new uniform Closing Instructions templates are now complete and being implemented across the mortgage lending industry. This webinar features Ruth Dillingham\, one of the founders of the Closing Instructions Work Group. She will introduce these new documents and discuss how lenders and their closing agents will benefit from the use of a common form when lenders communicate with their settlement agents. \nWith special guest Speaker \n \nRuth Dillingham \nDillingham Consulting\, LLC \n  \nSponsored by our Gold Partner
